  • The Borenius Group law firms also in Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius have adopted the name Attorneys at Law Borenius, 30.6.2011

    The change of name stems from the need to identity even more clearly with the Borenius Group. This uniformity will make Attorneys at Law Borenius more clearly visible to all interest groups as a law consortium with some 200 lawyers serving clients internationally.

    The long-term strategy of the Borenius Group better enables our local clients to access the Scandinavian and Baltic markets and to receive high-quality legal services in all countries where the group is located.

  • Borenius Group participating for the third year in organising ITechLaw Tallinn Conference, 3.6.2011

    Jointly organised by the lawyers’ association ITechLaw and Enterprise Estonia, the highly attended 4th annual conference specialising in the area of international technology will be taking place on 2-3 June 2011, in Tallinn. Borenius Grupp will be participating in organising and supporting the event for the third successive year.
     
    This time, the main theme of the conference is “Addressing the Challenges of Technology Companies in the Expansion Phase”. Companies hailing mostly from Estonia, but also from neighbouring countries, will be enlightened by lawyers, investors, and representatives of universities; furthermore, experience will also be shared by companies from the Baltic States and Nordic countries, as well as more distant European countries and the USA, which have already acquired experience in the same sector.
     
    The opening speech will be given by President Toomas Hendrik Ilves. The event will conclude with the contest of business plans of start-up companies, traditionally organised by Arctic Startup (Helsinki), Tehnopol, Connect Estonia and the Estonian Development Fund.

  • Lithuanian law firms Foigt & partners / REGIJA BORENIUS and Švirinas, Mackonis & partners LAWWAY have merged , 14.12.2010

    The well-established business law firms Foigt & Partners / REGIJA BORENIUS and Švirinas, Mackonis & partners LAWWAY have merged. The new name of the firm will be BORENIUS / Švirinas & Partners and it will continue as a part of Borenius Group.

    As the result of the merger, BORENIUS / Švirinas & Partners becomes one of the largest law practices in Lithuania, employing more than 30 legal professionals. The Borenius Group currently unites over 170 lawyers.

    CAPIP.EU (Coalition Against Piracy) is a service network covering the EU, Norway, and Switzerland and consisting of 23 law firms. The mission of CAPIP.EU is to allow access to a reliable legal service network through a single law firm and receive information about counterfeit and pirated articles within 29 jurisdictions.

    The member firms and customs gain access to a centralised web service for identifying, following, and destroying counterfeit goods, thereby providing legal support to intellectual property right holders in their fight against counterfeiting and piracy.

    ITechLaw invited technology professionals to annual Tallinn conference
    Tallinn hosted the 3rd annual ITechLaw conference in collaboration with Enterprise Estonia Silicon Valley office. The event "Preparing the Technology Company for Breakout: Challenges and Tools for the Nordic Region" took place between 31 May – 1 June 2010 at Swissotel Conference Centre.

    » offers entrepreneurs know-how for starting and expanding technology companies and overcoming challenges in the recent business climate, and
    » operates as a tool for exchanging experience about technology capital investment and attracting additional capital.

  • Stockholm calling, 13.3.2010

    Andreas Doepel, head of the Nordic Desk of Borenius & Kemppinen in Helsinki, is scheduled to participate as a panel speaker at the Mergermarket's fourth Nordic M&A and Private Equity Forum 2010, held 11 May at The Grand Hotel Stockholm. The forum is described as the most important event for the mergers and acquisitions and private equity industry in the Nordics.
